Three longfics I want to write before Inception is tapped out
Every time someone says "Inception fandom will be over by ______" they turn out to be wrong so I dunno what time frame we're really looking at here, BUT, I want to type something and I'm too sleepy to actually do real writing so instead I'm going to type about what I will write when I'm not sleepy.
Though keep in mind that these are totally subject to change, especially in the Title/Summary department because we've already determined these are not my strong points and your input is appreciated.
LONG FICS I WANT TO WRITE
Title: We Weren't Born Cruel
Length: Somewhere between 20k-50k. Oh God don't let it be more than 50k.
Rating: NC-17 and then some
Pairings/Characters: Eames/OMC/OFC and all possible combinations of those. Cameos by Cobb and Bone.
Warnings: Graphic violence and torture, graphic sex (MM, MF, and FF via forging), dubcon and noncon (possibly - not sure about this yet), drug use and addiction, offensive and un-PC language (the opinions of these OCs are not those of the author B:), child abuse, softcore dream vore and other various dark themes.
Did you see that? VORE. But softcore. Don't think guts, think...candy. Yeah, I'm going there.
Summary: When I write Arthur, his backstory is always a little different for each fic. When I write Eames, it's always this fic: how Eames got into dreaming, how he first became a forger and extractor, who the people are who helped form him as a person etc etc. In short, the story of how Eames, Sullivan, and Tung were shared dreaming's first freelance criminals. Ultimately I want it to be very clear why everyone shudders at the mention of Sullivan and Tung, if you know what I mean. Oh and also how Eames met Bone <3
BECAUSE FUCK IT, HE'S CANON NOW. DEAL WITH IT.
So yeah this is a tricky and dangerous fic that I want to write in very different style than I'm used to, and saying "this is my Eames canon" could change the way you all view my other fics, which is risky, but what the hell, I'm challenging myself. Annnnnnnd maybe no one will read it, but that's okay, because the next one, THE NEXT ONE, that is lovely:
Title: I Hear They Have Three Daddies (WIP title lol)
Length: 30k-40k maybe?
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Cobb/Eames/Robert and all possible pairings therein, Ariadne/Arthur (mostly on the side?), cameos by Bone and Wallace (HA, SEE, HE'S BACK!!! ...maybe)
Warnings: Graphic sex
Summary: Follow up to The Helix Trap. Eames and Robert are together but when Eames periodically leaves town, Cobb agrees to keep an eye on Robert (who is still struggling with aftereffects of the Helix Trap). And then there are LOTS OF FEELINGS. Threesomes are all the rage, I'm telling you. Might be an actual conflict in the form of other extractors, haven't decided that far yet. But while writing Helix I fell for Cobb and I want to see him open up emotionally and sexually, in delicate and angsty fashion.
Title: Unnamed Parts 2 and 3 of The Paradox Job
Length: 30k for each part, so 60k?
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Arthur/Eames, various other OCs and canon characters
Warnings: The usual. Sex, drugs, violence.
Summary: My idea for doing a part 2 would be that three or four years after the events of The Paradox Job, Arthur and Eames finally meet back up. By then both have matured into their canon selves: Arthur, away from the influences of Eames and Bone, is having much more professional dreams with a much more professional team, and has risen to the top (or near top) of their field. He's on his game and feels like he's more than ready to match up with Eames. Eames, on the other hand, has toned down a bit. He's not quite so paranoid, and with mind crime becoming fashionable he lives comfortably, relying on his reputation as one of forging's first and finest to get him work (and supplementing with normal crime when he needs to). More somnacin circulating also means there are more dream dens and willing dreamers around, so he sees less of Bone than he used to (you can imagine why). They are no longer a dynamic duo.
So when Arthur and Eames do meet back up, they're both excited at first, but now that Arthur is a real extractor, he's developed his own way of doing things, which is naturally very different from Eames'. They butt heads as Arthur tries to impress Eames with the BAMFery he's developed, except Eames always thought he WAS a BAMF so he's not as impressed as Arthur wants him to be, cue more head butting. Both are frustrated because they're still interested but neither is quite what the other remembers and they can't figure out a way to make themselves fit. Except in bed of course <3333
Some manner of job undercuts lots of sexual tension and irritation and ways are parted. Then in Part 3, post Inception, they finally figure it out. That's the idea, anyway.
That's a lot of writing to do B:
THERE ARE ALSO SHORT FICS I WANT TO WRITE, SOME OF WHICH YOU MAY SEE AT THE RAREPAIR FEST, THAT'S ALLOWED, RIGHT?? OF COURSE I ALSO INTEND TO FILL PROMPTS
1. Porn. Not just any old porn, porn of a specific pairing/variety that is a secret.
2. Eames/Cobb - how they met. In my head, Cobb met Eames for the first time shortly after he went on the run. Eames as a criminal-turned-dreamer and Cobb as a dreamer-turned-criminal had a lot to teach each other and that's where their mutual respect comes from. Also possible Cobb/Mal!Eames.
3. A/A and E/R Helix Trap ~sexilogues~ because I said I would and I DO have a setup for each that doesn't suck and is more than just random sex.
4. Eames vs Mary in a forgery battle. Do you remember Mary? Did you know she's a forger?? Well she is and they battle, sexily.
5. Other things I can't think of atm.
I'm also interested in the idea of doing a collaboration, since I missed the first Big Bang and my I_RB was more of a fill to a prompt than a collab--which is fine, I had a blast, but doing an honest to goodness collab sounds like fun! Anyone know if there's going to be another Big Bang? I get the feeling no, but I want to keep my ear open.
