FINISHED <3
Yup, still my favorite case <3
Leaving off from before, Edgeworth is still fantastic. Maybe it's getting OLD by now, but I want to point out that Edgeworth again admits at the end "I used every dirty trick in the book" when referring to his old career as a prosecutor. Sure it's after the fact and he has a new perspective, but I think it combats all the "I've only ever tried to do what waswright right" talk in 1-5. And I like him better this way <3
Matt is a fabulous villain. The lengths people will go to just for their reputation as a children's actor! That's like Hannah Montana killing Sabring the Teenage Witch or something. It's like...whoa, serious business for sure. But I like that about Matt. By the end of the case you're just dyyyyying to get him convicted, and that's what a great villain really is.
De Killer, on the other hand, I'm rather indifferent to. I don't really buy into his ideal of "morality" at all. :P
Seemed like there was a lot of unnecessary pressing in this case near the end, though. There are a few testimonies where the only way to get through them is to press everything, even though you get very little information from doing so. Kind of irritating when you're trying to do it all on a schedule!
The play back and forth between Phoenix and Edgeworth here is without a doubt my favorite point of the series. Especially the moment in which Phoenix realizes how much he trusts Edgeworth... Even outside the realm of fangirlness, it's such a great moment. And then Gumshoe calling and getting in an accident, and Franziska bursting in at the last minute... I knew it was going to end well but it was still really exciting XD.
Plus, Phoenix and Edgeworth breaking down doors together <333 I wish we could have seen it ;_;
The case (and the game) ends with Edgeworth and Fraziska, not really my favorite scene. I don't care for Franziska as a character at all, so watching her cry didn't really do much for me, I have to admit. I was never able to shake the feeling that using another Karma was kind of a cop-out. Franziska held all the same practices and some of the mannerisms of Edgeworth and Karma, but none of the intimidation. The whole game it was like fighting Karma Lite, especially with her spoild child attitude.
And then, her motive. The fact that she's Karma daughter makes it seem at first that she's out for revenge against Karma, and she quickly shoots that idea down. So you spend the game wondering what she really wants, and it turns out... revenge WAS her motive all along, it was just against Edgeworth instead of Karma. Which isn't really a reveal at all, because...duhh. I mean, come on, "I wanted to beat the man who beat my genius father" isn't all that different from "I wanted to beat the man who beat my genius brother." Sure they mean different things to Franziska, but plopped down at the end it felt to me like they were trying to surprise you with a revelation that wasn't all that surprising or interesting anyway.
Ummmm and lastly, Will Powers is a lot more likeable in this case than in 1-3. He's like a big hairy housewife who spreads gossip <33
KNOW WHAT I WANT TO SEE?? Phoenix introduces Will to Larry, and Larry grooms him into a lady killer. I think those two would be hilarious together now that I think of it. XDD
And that's 2-4 <33
