I beat Portal 2! I'm pretty sure I forgot to write in here that I even bought it, lol. BUT YES, PORTAL. I really enjoyed it, though some parts much more than others. Like the rest of the internet I love Wheatley <3 GLaDOS I loved in the beginning, but towards the end I got a little tired of her. Plus there was one important plot issue I wasn't so keen on.

Thanks to Fandom Secrets I knew already that Wheatley ended up being a villain, but I really disliked the way they handled it once it got to the "once plugged into the system he is driven by it to test" part. The game treated all that behavior like it was something he couldn't help once he was plugged in, as if suggesting that to some degree GLaDOS couldn't either. Which sure, they're computers, nothing they do is really their "own" doing so much as it is programming, but I really hate when stories try to explain away the villains' villainy like that. And even if the stuff at the end about her gaining a conscience for a moment was BS, it was too obvious to be really funny or necessary. It made me like GLaDOS less.

In other news I liked the funnels and light bridges, did not like goo. Cave Johnson was funny but I was kind of bored with him, knowing that he was all pre-recorded, until he started to lose it in the end. Then he became interesting, which is of course the point in which he runs out of recordings. I think it would be very interesting to read fic that takes place in Cave's time, with Caroline and the rest of the cores based on real people (yes I'm on the Human Wheatley train too DON'T JUDGE ME. A fic in past time makes more sense than him being human for no reason OKAY??).

So in the end it was a fun game, and I still have the multiplayer to get through.

I also finally watched The Experiment with Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker! I had read a review saying it sucked, so I was pleasantly surprised that it did not. I wouldn't necessarily say it was great, but it's hard not to appreciate Adrien Brody's performance no matter what he's in. I think he should be like Travis all the time! He was just so RIPPED, and ragged, and easy-going, and vulnerable, and NUTS. With his shaved head and his whiskers and his tats it was just like Mmmmmmmmm. Prepare for gifs.

RAWWWWWWWRRRRRRR PUNCH THAT ASSHOLE!!!

Dear Adrien Brody: Please don't lose your muscles.
Love: Croik.
