croikI just found out that my boss is...well, no longer my boss. He either quit/was fired/was promoted--I have no idea! But he's no longer my production manager and I will miss him.
Already my new bossy is after my heart, though--two more yaoi books on the way <3
In other news, I beat DMC3 (on easy, I'm a wuss :D).
Despite my reservations, I have to say, DMC3 was really cool. Though the cut scene graphics were...mostly crappy, the in game was a step up from the original. Several of the areas were really well done, and the camera problems from 2 weren't as prevalent. The action was cool. I guess the different styles were kind of cool but I only ever use two of them, and even then one far more often than the other. I like that the levels were set up more like DMC1, with a continuous, connected map, and that you could go back into previous missions to help level up and get orbs. The main theme is great. Good length, good gameplay, good stuff.
Plot/character wise...ugh. There seems to be this thing lately where games that used to not have lots of plot (Gungrave, Star Fox) are getting more...which isn't "bad," I guess, but they can't exactly pull it off, either. I really liked DMC1 because it was cheesy and cute--Dante was a bad ass, but he was...squishy at the same time. He was a big dumb frat boy who loved his mommy. DMC3 Dante was just an annoying teenager.
Not to mention the goddamn motorcycle >.<
Anyway, I know DMC is not a plot oriented game, I'm glad it's not and I didn't want it to be going in. But the only thing that kept me from going bored out of my mind during every cinema was the choreography, which was actually pretty cool.
Except for the goddamn motorcycle! >.really lame. Even the fire angel from DMC2 at least looked really cool.
(Is there, like, some extra boss you get to fight in the higher difficulties? Hmm...)
So overall: I liked it. I'm already going through again, this time skipping all the cutscenes.
Favorite style: Swordmaster
Favorite weapon: Agni and Rudra
Favorite gun(s): Ebony and Ivory
Favorite boss: Geryon (He just looks...so damn cool!)
Oh, and Virgel sucks big time. Thank god I left the DMC yaoi comm I used to be on... I can only imagine the horrors about to errupt.... *hides*
