croikMan, it feels like I haven't been around my own journal in a while! Just been so busy with other stuff. What, you say!?
PHOENIX WRIGHT FANDOM.
That's right, I've fallen head first into the glorious wackiness that isgay lawyers Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. If you are in possession of a DS and a sense of humor there's no excuse for not having it. I have already professed my love for the series with a four part NokoMitsu fic, two RP journals, and even a damn fansite.
But seriously, it's so....refreshing to be in a fandom of awesome people with just right amount of fangirl silliness and respect for characterization. Our RP ROCKS. We're right in the middle of our first trial and it's sooooo much fun! (Except that my character is now in prison suspected of murder Q_Q) IF ANY OF YOU GUYS ARE READING THIS I LOVE YOU~~~~!!
*ahem* Moving on, I haven't given a work update lately. Several of my books are out now (Embracing Love 2, Kizuna 4 and 5, Cage in the Finder...) and Play Boy Blues is coming out this week!
Looks like I'm going to be the only translator working on EL and Kizuna from now on :O. Bossman says "since Kizuna has such a complicated plot, it's better to have someone who knows it." Which, hells yeah, he likes my work, though "complicated" is not the word I'd use for Kizuna. Believe it or not KK's art by volume 7 has gotten even worse! XDDDD Book took me forever 'cause I was so busy staring in disbelief at Ranmaru's alien head.
(Don't worry, I didn't let it affect quality :PPPPP)
Embracing Loves continues to stun and awe. Iwaki is hilarious and I really like his character growth but I think Katou is starting to annoy me... Nitta has this thing about her semes that gets on my nerves after a while. Same thing in "My Voice". I was totally routing for the hot hot teacher and his hot hot protoge over the main dude.
Finder is hilarious, too. I don't know much about the first volume but the second one has the hot Chinese dude who gets often molested. I think his name was Wei but it's been a long time so I forget... >.>
Play Boy Blues is, as the name implies, quite porny. Once again I preferred the side characters to the main ones but it's short, lots of sex, and the art's not bad. Except I never did figure out if the side story was really about incest or not... There's so much more of it popping up in yaoi now, and presented SO casually, it's hard to tell sometimes.
Which brings me to "Close the Last Door" (not a CPM title). Finally, a nice wholesome yaoi. The author is new, I think, and the art style isn't my favorite, but it's nice to find yaoi with no rape and no woman bashing and no...well, crap. It's just genuinely not crappy! The characters are interesting and cute and it's just a good old fashion love triangle. Not the most thrilling story but I enjoyed it.
The only thing that kinda bugs me is that when the author goes into sex scene mode she suddenly throws in a lot of extra shading and such that doesn't look so hot. That and the totally random unexpected incest that pops up for a chapter in book two for no reason. It's like, aww, cute new characters...and incestual! O_o Not that I'm 100% against incest or anything (IN FICTION) but it's usually not the sort of thing you just toss in for the hell of it.
And then there's Jazz. Don't get Jazz unless you like non-con.
I should be getting another book this month. :D
