Thank goodness for big sisters <3

croikSo in my last entry I mentioned I was sick, but apparently that wasn't the entire story.
The truth is I've been coughing so hard for the past week that I haven't been able to keep down solid food for very long. I was taking Robitussin for a while but that didn't last long 'cause it started making me yak. Yesterday I was feeling particularly miserable and thiiiiis close to asking for my mom to come pick me up (I was REALLY sick) but she said I should tough it out. As is sometimes the case between me and my mom, this triggered my stubborn side and I insisted to TK (sister, roommate) that I'd just go to bed early, and if I felt worse the next day go to a walk-in clinic.
I ended up watching the first 20 minutes of Gigli out of pure morbid curiosity, but it wasn't even funny-bad so I chatted online for a while and went to bed.
This is where it gets hairy. I woke up around 2, 2:30, freezing, covered in sweat and gagging up my empty stomach. Now I'm usually pretty calm but I panicked a little and woke up TK, who took me to the emergency room. I had my vitals taken, a nice chat with hot Dr. Chad, and a couple chest X-rays. Then he disappeared for a while (the guy across from me was having chest pains) and when he came back let me know I have a mild case of pneumonia.
Now my only experience with pneumonia was The Secret of Nimh so I was pretty nervous, but Dr. Chad prescribed some antibiotics and a cough medicine (that hopefully won't make me yak) and said it should start to clear up in 2-3 days. I just need to get plenty of rest and fluids. And now I feel stupid for not going sooner. :(
We got home from the hospital about 5am and like a trooper TK got an extra half hour of sleep before she had to get up for work. I'm so lucky to have my sister ;_; *big hugs*
So I'll be online at random intervals for the next few days while I get better.
I guess I'd better call my mom >.>
