Croik feels old

croikMy 24th birthday's coming up (the 13th) and you know what I want? An egg poacher. I'm actually pretty excited about the possibility of getting one.
Does that mean I'll never be cool again? :(
MEANWHILE something crazy happened the other day.
I was chatting with some PW friends over irc, and all of a sudden Lanny (aka![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
silverwind9) starts flipping out over some Nightwish song she downloaded. So we asked what the deal was and she explained it was a remake of a song she heard as a kid - total nostalgia trip. When we finally got around to asking what song she meant I flipped out, too.
She'd found a Nightwish remake of the song "Walking in the Air," which was played in the movie adapation of that old children's book "The Snowman." DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER IT!? I LOVED that song. I'd forgotten almost all about it until Lanny mentioned it. As she's sending it to me I suddenly remember the first (and only) time I'd heard it was one of the times we spent Christmas with my grandparents in Colorado.
I know I didn't mention this at the time, but my Grandfather passed away this last February. So as soon as the song starts playing I tear up, and Lanny tells me she's crying, so now we're crying over irc and then of course that's when the electric guitar starts up. Because it's still Nightwish, after all. I'm not usually so sentimental but
I've listened to it about a dozen times now, along with the two other versions Lanny sent me, and I'm so glad to have them. If anyone remembers the song or just wants to hear it, I'll send it to you.
In other news, I'm still not entirely over this damn pneumonia. I'm still coughing! It's not any worse than a light cold at this point but it's still annoying. I'll probably have to go back in for more antibiotics at some point :P
