WORKY WORK, BUSY BEEEEE

croikIf you're playing Metal Gear Online and you happen to run into a skinhead in green named "Bambi," that's me :D Be my friend plz.
But that's all I'm going to say about the game, because I'm afraid of spoiling, and I'm afraid people might respond and unintentionally gauge me as being further in the game than I am, and spoil me. And I don't want spoilings!
So, I'll just say I'm enjoying a lot :D. I've been compiling notes that I'll put up once I'm all finished.
Meanwhile, I'm still trying to catch up with my work after taking time off for Anime North and Captivate.
I'm still a book behind, but thankfully my boss has been really understanding. I'm much too lazy to write up an actual con report, so I'll just say I had a great time, everyone was awesome, and here's the link to our collection of photos from the weekend:

I'm not sure why, but this is one of my favorites from the weekend.
Right after I got back from North, I flew out to Vegas to be part of Captivate 08, Capcom's press only event. I had a fantastic time, and my full writeup of the event is already on Court Records. What didn't make it into that report is that I spent all of Friday being intimidated like whoa XD;;;. I know I'm short, but it didn't occur to me just how short until I had to spend the weekend with a bunch of really tall gaming people. Seriously, how'd they all get so damn tall. Ben Judd is like 20 feet tall or something.
It was also a little awkward at first because even though I like a whole bunch of Capcom games (Ace Attorney, DMC, Onimusha, Okami) the only thing they were showing I knew much about was Resident Evil, and my knowledge in that didn't equal even a fourth of what everyone else seemed to know. Producers, directors, development history... So I really didn't talk much until Thursday evening, when everyone had finished talking about everything I was clueless about.
So it would have been nice if I could have flexed my geek muscle and really talked Ace Attorney with some people, but everyone there was to see the action games, and even though they knew OF Phoenix (and knew I was Croik) no one cared enough to want to talk about it. Too bad Kenji wasn't a bit further along in development :\
ANYWAY, over all it was a great time, and I didn't exaggerate in my report about how good Capcom was to me. I'd just love to go back some time when they're showing games I really know!
And Lost is really cute. <3 It's too bad he's moving away to China ;_;
While I was there, I did a short video spot for Gamespot and also got to participate in one of the Top Secret podcasts. When they're out I'll post links here~
