Delayed reaction holiday post

It's a little late to say Happy New Year but HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS BEFORE THAT!!
2009 was a pretty decent year over all! I want to say a big "<3 you" to all my buddies here on LJ. I really wish I could have sent holiday gifts this year but financially it just wasn't possible for me I'm afraid ;o; (I've gone from possibly 3 jobs back down to just translating, boo). But you guys are all awesome and I appreciate you so much.
"We don't need you to work here anymore" aside, I had a lovely holiday with my family. Had Xmas dinner with my dad's siblings and families, hosted my brother for a few days, and then my parents spent New Years with us and helped us do some work on the house. TK and our dad built a bench for our kitchen table (so cute!) and we painted the upstairs hall and downstairs bathroom. That is our family's idea of vacation, seriously.
I feel a little guilty celebrating the gifts I got this year, since I need money right now more than stuff, but...it's really nice stuff!
Such as:

A smiling spatula! With matching spoons I didn't take a picture of.

A 2000 piece puzzle of Starry Night. Oh god it's intimidating.

Assassin's Creed II and Uncharted 2. Why does AC get roman numerals and not Uncharted? I don't know. But they are both awesome.

A new banister! Now our house isn't in violation of city law! That's more of a joint gift.

TK used her Xmas money to buy a new kitchen table and chairs! You can kind of see the new bench behind it. It still needs a cushion.
And the real whopper:

A new 40" LCDHDTV1080PBBQ!! It's so beautiful! ;o; I have to play all my PS3 games over again because I was missing out before now.
Okay so I need health insurance more than I do a new TV, but...it's just so damn shiny! And it was a gift from our parents, so I don't feel guilty. Much. >.>
And, because we still have all our paint out, I started the prelim steps of my bedroom project I've been wanting to do since we moved in:

It's Hokusai's wave projected onto my wall with a light box thingy. We had some leftover white paint so I started it, will post pics as it goes.
I'm finishing a manga this week and then it's back to job hunting. Wish me luck B:
Have a happy 2010 :D
