Teh Tragedy~~~
Dec. 10th, 2005 02:06 amSo my new computer had it's first real problem the other day, and...man, Enji doesn't half ass! My computer died. Having frozen up during a routine scan disk I couldn't get him to start up again past the Windows load screen. Safe mode, command prompt, system restore, bios defaults, NOTHING worked. Several hours trying everything and talking to tech support later all I had left was a standard recovery (not the destructive recovery I'd been desperately avoiding), and...well, in the end I lost all my data anyway. 160 GIGS OF DATA.
Thankfully, since the computer's only a few weeks old and I never bothered to delete anything off Ashley (and never got around to getting rid of him) I ended up not losing that much. My Fire Emblem sprite sheets, my fully unlocked Gyakuten Saiban roms (*tear*), the Gankutsuou soundtracks, three complete anime series, and four fics (two complete, one half finished and half a chapter of TF).
My two yuletides were in there Q_Q That was the most upsetting part, because one of them in particular I'd really put my best into.
A few days later, I've managed to recover everything except for FMA and Trinity Blood (but I don't want to watch TB anymore anyway!!), and I've rewritten the two yuletides. It's hard for me to judge whether or not they came out just as well, but I hope the recipients enjoy them.
UNRELATEDLY, if you're interested in some really beautiful and dramatic orchestral music, I suggest clicking this link to #gamemp3.net and downloading the "Wander and the Colossus ~Roar of the Earth~ Original Soundtrack." It's beautiful and haunting and dramatic and exciting and OMG it's just really good if this sort of thing is your thing. And even if it's not.
